The Last of Us Part I: NPCs

I had the opportunity to work on a few NPCs on The Last of Us Part I.

A highlight of the production of Part I was having my head scanned and incorporated into the game as the news reporter from the Austin chapter of the game. Not only this, but I also got to work on that character, which admittedly was very strange but very cool. Although we had to change my likeness slightly to fit the face rig, I will forever exist in this game which means so much to me, and I have my lead, Darcy Korch, to thank for making that happen. Cheyne Hessler was responsible for initial textures for the news reporter's head, and completed the costume as well.

Over the years I worked on many different NPC's, but as is natural during the gamedev process, over time those things sometimes got handed off, or changed, or cut completely so they are a bit lost to time. But here are a few that made it in. It was always fun to characterize the scanned heads of coworkers and try to get them to fit within their respective faction. Ivan Miya and Henry Hsu were responsible for the costumes of the other NPCs shown here.
